Yoshihiko Shimizu joined the Sumitomo Bank, Ltd. (now Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) in 1978. After accumulating achievements through corporate sales, he held key positions, such as Managing Executive Officer and Head of Corporate Management, and Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, until he was appointed Representative Director and Vice President of the bank in 2012. In 2014, he was appointed Representative Director and Vice Chairman of the bank. After retiring from the bank, Mr. Shimizu joined SMBC Nikko Securities Inc. in 2015. He was appointed Representative Director and President of the company in 2016, and from April 2020, continued to drive the development of the company as Representative Director and Chairman of the company. He also served as Director of the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group from June 2020 to June 2021. Mr. Shimizu was appointed Special Advisor of Nippon Sangyo Suishin Kiko Ltd. in May 2022. In addition, he served concurrently as an advisor to several domestic and international funds and operating companies. He helped these companies implement their mission of “contributing to the environment, society and corporate governance in Japan and eventually on a global basis.” Mr. Shimizu held other prominent positions such as President of the Yamanashi Kenjinkai Rengokai and Director of Japan for UNHCR, promoting the development of local economies and cooperation between Japan and international society. In December 2023, he was appointed Advisor to Frontier Management Inc.
