Satoko Ueyama started her career as an economist at the Bank of Japan and moved into strategic consulting at McKinsey & Company. She then co-founded and led the growth of a new delicatessen brand. She joined Frontier Management Inc. in 2021.

At Frontier Management Inc. , Satoko has supported management executives of the client companies in various industries to build and implement their ESG strategy, to develop new businesses, or to design their competitive strategy.

Before joining Frontier Management Inc. , she launched a new delicatessen brand as a co-founder and board member, leading its business growth through new store development and introduction of new menu series among other measures.

While with McKinsey and company, she served client companies in a wide range of industry, successfully launching a CRM program for a leading retailor, drove a procurement optimization project of a global financial institution, supported a cross-border corporate merger through leading its HR integration process, to name a few.

When serving as an economist/industry analyst at the Bank of Japan, she completed several research projects on the Japanese economy, and then took charge of analyzing the Chinese economy. She also supported the Governor and other senior officials to prepare for the IMF, G20, OECD and other international meetings by effectively summarizing key agenda issues and developing the Bank’s policy positions.
