Career Summary
Joined The Mitsubishi Bank, Ltd. in 1988. After working in branch offices, the Project Sales Department, and the Sales Division , he was transferred to the Americas Investment Banking Department of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi in New York in 1999. After studying abroad, he returned to Japan in 2005. After working in the Investment Banking Planning Office, the Secretary's Office, and as Deputy General Manager of the MUFG Corporate Planning Department at MUFG Bank, Ltd. he was appointed Deputy General Manager of the Asian Investment Banking Department and transferred to Hong Kong in 2012. In 2013, he moved to Shanghai and served as a Director and Vice President of the local subsidiary in China, and in 2016, he served as the General Manager of the East Asia Planning Department in Tokyo. In 2018, he was appointed Managing Director and General Manager of Investment Division 1 at Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd., and in July 2022, he was appointed Principal Advisor at Frontier Management Inc.
Achievements
After working in overseas real estate project finance at The Mitsubishi Bank, Ltd. and The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd. , he was in charge of foreign exchange and all related company transactions at a general trading company. In New York, he was in charge of promoting syndicated loans for Japanese companies in the United States and planning securitization operations. After returning to Japan, he was in charge of integrating the investment banking division with UFJ Bank Limited (currently MUFG Bank, Ltd.).
At MUFG Bank, Ltd., he was involved in the planning and management of overseas investment banking operations, secretarial work, the reorganization of MUFG departments, and the formulation of medium-term management plans. While in Hong Kong, he oversaw the department as the head of investment banking operations in East Asia. As Vice President and CRO of the local subsidiary in China (headquarters and 14 branches), he was in charge of overall internal management such as human resources, general affairs, risk management, compliance, systems, and administration, and achieved reforms to the human resources system and the upgrading of office systems. While in the East Asia Planning Department, he was responsible for formulating and promoting business plans for the entire East Asia region, as well as for managing and streamlining bases.
At Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd. , he was mainly in charge of deep tech, fintech, life sciences, and overseas-related operations, and was involved in strengthening related investments, increasing the value of invested companies, and implementing EXITs.
