James Horiuchi is Head of US Mergers & Acquisitions at FMI, based in New York since March 2019. He is a veteran corporate finance advisory professional, with 16-year experience in the corporate finance advisory services, with a particular focus on M&A advisory and track record of numerous completed deals for clients in Japan, Europe and US.
Previously James worked at the investment banking / corporate finance department of Mizuho (UK), Credit Suisse (UK, US, Japan), ABN Amro (UK), and BNP Paribas (France).
Various deal types including acquisitions, corporate sales, mergers, spin-offs, divestitures, JVs, LBOs, privatizations, and takeover defense.
Diverse sector coverage, including financial services (previous main focus), business services, chemical / basic materials, oil & gas / utilities, industrials / technologies, and healthcare.
Key geographic coverage includes United States and Europe (mainly UK, France, and Nordics)

Graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (MBA) and Indiana University at Bloomington (BA); speaks English, Japanese and French.
