Soichiro Fukuda joined The Mitsui Trust and Banking, Co., Ltd. (now Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited.) in 1993. After working at its Yaesu Branch, he took charge of buy-side analyst operations in the Trust Funds Investment Department. He joined IBJ Securities Co., Ltd. (now Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd.) in 1999 and Nikko Salomon Smith Barney Limited (now Citigroup Global Markets Japan Inc.) in 2000, where he was in charge of sell-side analyst operations. After working at Microsoft Corporation (now Microsoft Japan Co., Ltd.) from 2003 to 2005, he returned to Nikko Citigroup Limited (now Citigroup Global Markets Japan Inc.) as a sell-side analyst in 2005 and worked for the company until 2014. After working at Fields Corporation, Mr. Fukuda joined Frontier Management Inc. in 2016, where he was appointed a senior analyst.
For 18 years from 1998 to 2016, Mr. Fukuda was consistently involved in the entertainment industry working as an analyst for business companies. As a sell-side analyst, he was in charge of the research of a broad range of industries, including media, internet and IT services, in addition to the entertainment industry. He has been placed highly in rankings of sell-side analysts by U.S. magazines such as Institutional Investor since 2006.
During his tenure at Microsoft Corporation from 2003 to 2005, he was involved in the launch strategy of the company's Xbox360game console in Japan and the marketing strategy of the online service, Xbox Live. During his time at Fields Corporation between 2014 and 2016, he was responsible for the management of its IR and game-related affiliates.
