Tad joined The Sumitomo Bank, Limited (current Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) in 1985. Joined SMBC Nikko Securities, Inc. in 2017. Became Senior Managing Director and Managing Executive Officer in 2018. Concurrently served as Managing Executive Officer of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. in 2020. Joined Frontier Management Inc. as Deputy President Executive Officer in 2021 and He became a Director of the Board of the Company in 2022.
Tad has extensive experience and depth knowledge in both commercial banking and investment banking in Japan and abroad. He has been involved in banking business with domestic and overseas corporate clients throughout his carrier.

Tad worked twice in the City of London, between 1989 – 1996 (The Sumitomo Bank, Limited “Sumitomo Bank”) and 2003 – 2004 (Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation “SMBC”). He was responsible for banking business with airlines and aerospace industries in EMEA and Asia, and with Japanese corporate clients in EMEA.

At SMBC, Tad became General Manager of Yokohama Ekimae Corporate Office in 2013 and subsequently assumed the role of Senior General Manager in 2015. He was responsible to promote commercial banking business with major corporate clients in Kanagawa Prefecture. In Corporate Advisory Division, as General Manager (2006-2013), Senior General Manager and Joint Head of the division (2016-2017), he conducted and promoted business operations to enhance corporate values of clients. These operations included capital policy advice, leveraged finance, acquisition finance, originating M&A and MBO transactions, turnaround business, introducing PE firms and business alliance partners, and overseas expansion, etc.

At SMBC Nikko Securities, Inc. ”SMBC Nikko” (2017-2021), Tad conducted investment banking business as Head of Corporate Clients and Investment Banking, and as Global Head of M&A. He promoted M&A advisory, equity and debt finance business for major corporate clients in Japan and overseas. He supervised overseas offices of SMBC Nikko Wholesale Business Unit and overseas seconded offices which included New York, San Francisco, London, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta, Hanoi and Mumbai, and strengthened the global franchise.

As Managing Executive Officer/Deputy Head of Wholesale Business Unit of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. and concurrently serving as Managing Executive Officer/Senior Deputy Head of Wholesale Business Unit of SMBC Nikko, Tad was involved in evolving and strengthening Bank/Securities business cooperation, compliance and implementation of global standard HR system, etc.
